Your BetterSTR guidebook pulls the check-in and check-out times directly from each Hostex reservation. If a guest’s guidebook is showing the wrong times — for example a 3pm check-in instead of 4pm, or a 12pm check-out instead of 10am — the times stored in Hostex don’t match your property’s actual policy. Updating the default times in Hostex fixes this for current and future reservations.
Set your default check-in & check-out times in Hostex
-
Log in to Hostex and open Settings → Reservation Status Changing Rules (hostex.io/app/settings/custom-options).
-
Make sure Automatic is selected. This tells Hostex to apply your default times to reservations once the check-in/out time is reached.
-
Set Default check-in time and Default check-out time to your property’s actual times (e.g.
16:00for a 4pm check-in and10:00for a 10am check-out). -
Click Apply changes to all completed reservations if you also want existing reservations updated, then save.

Times are set per channel
Hostex uses these defaults when a connected channel (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) doesn’t send its own check-in/out time. If a specific listing has its own times configured on the channel, update them there too so everything stays consistent.
Still showing the old times? Re-sync your properties
If you’ve updated the times in Hostex but the guidebook hasn’t caught up, force BetterSTR to pull the latest data:
-
In BetterSTR, go to the Integrations page.
-
Next to Hostex, choose Sync properties to refresh your property and reservation details.
-
Re-open the guidebook — the corrected check-in and check-out times will now appear.
