May 25, 2025 72 views Barry Murphy
Reconnect with past guests—up to 10 years back—using SMS remarketing. Send direct booking links, discounts, or seasonal promos, helping you boost bookings while avoiding OTA fees from the likes of Airbnb etc

Stay top of mind with your past guests and boost direct bookings by using our Guest Remarketing tools. Whether you want to reconnect with guests who stayed during the snow season last year or those who visited your property up to 10 years ago, you can now send personalized SMS messages directly from your BetterSTR dashboard.

This powerful feature helps you cut out the middleman—no more OTA fees from Airbnb, Booking.com, or other platforms—by encouraging repeat bookings through your own direct channels.

📍 Where to Access It

Go to the Reservations page and use the Advanced Search to filter by:

  • Date range (e.g., snow season, summer holidays, long weekends)

  • Property

  • Number of guests

  • Phone number or name

  • Booking platform

📩 How to Message Past Guests

Once you've filtered the guests you want to target:

  1. Tick the checkbox beside individual guest names

  2. Or, Select All using the master checkbox

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page

  4. Choose “Send TXT Message” to send a customized SMS (e.g., "Book directly and save 10% this winter!")

  5. Alternatively, select “Download CSV” to export guest contact info and reach out by phone or your own messaging system

🎯 Campaign Ideas

  • Seasonal Reminders: “Miss the snow? Book your winter escape early and save 15%!”

  • Exclusive Deals: “You’re invited back with a special code for returning guests: WELCOME10”

  • Event Promotions: “Heading to the festival this year? Stay with us again—book direct & save.”

  • OTA Bypass: “Book direct and skip Airbnb fees—your next stay is just a click away.”

🔐 Respecting Privacy

Only guests with a valid phone number on file can be messaged via SMS. Always ensure your message includes an opt-out option or clearly states it’s from your business.
