Account Settings: Profile, Timezone, and Email Verification

Update your profile information, set your timezone, verify your email, and change your password.

Your account settings control your personal information, timezone preferences, and security options. Keep these updated for the best experience.

 

Accessing Account Settings

Click on your profile icon in the top menu and select Edit Profile, or navigate to the Profile section from the sidebar.

 

Personal Information

Full Name

Your name as displayed in the account and used for communications. This is a required field.

Company Name

Optional field for your business or property management company name.

Phone Number

Your contact phone number with international format. The system auto-detects your country code.

 

Email Address

Viewing Your Email

Your registered email address is shown with a verification status badge:

  • Verified - Email is confirmed
  • Not Verified - Verification pending

Email Verification

If your email is not verified:

  1. Click Resend Verification Email
  2. Check your inbox (and spam folder)
  3. Click the verification link in the email

Email verification is important for:

  • Account recovery
  • Receiving important notifications
  • Security confirmations

Timezone Settings

Your timezone affects how dates and times display throughout the platform.

Automatic Detection

BetterSTR can automatically detect your timezone from your browser. Look for the Detect Timezone option.

Manual Selection

Choose from the dropdown organized by:

  • US Timezones - Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii
  • Common Timezones - London, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, etc.
  • UTC Offsets - For other regions

Why Timezone Matters

  • Check-in/check-out times display correctly
  • Cleaner notifications send at appropriate times
  • Reservation dates show in your local time
  • Scheduled SMS messages trigger correctly

 

Changing Your Password

From the Profile Page

  1. Scroll to the Security section
  2. Enter your new password
  3. Save changes

From the Sidebar

  1. Click Change Password in the sidebar
  2. The page scrolls to the password field automatically
  3. Enter your new password
  4. Save changes
Note: Leave the password field blank if you do not want to change it.

 

Email Subscriptions

Manage which emails you receive from BetterSTR:

  1. Click Email Subscriptions in the sidebar
  2. Toggle notifications on or off
  3. Save your preferences

 

Saving Changes

After updating any profile information:

  1. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the form
  2. Wait for the success confirmation
  3. Changes take effect immediately
