BetterSTR has a built-in feature request system where you can submit ideas, vote on suggestions from other users, and track the progress of features through development.
Accessing Feature Requests
Navigate to Feature Requests from the main menu (look for the lightbulb icon).
Browsing Feature Requests
The main page displays all feature requests as cards showing:
- Title - The feature name (click to view details)
- Description Preview - First line of the description
- Status - Current stage in development
- Date Added - When it was submitted
- Upvote Count - How many users support this feature
Filtering by Status
Use the dropdown filter to view:
- All Statuses - Everything visible to you
- Active - Features being voted on, in progress, or testing
- Voting - Open for community votes
- In Progress - Currently being developed
- In Testing - Being tested before release
- Completed - Released and available
Submitting a Feature Request
- Click the New Feature button (top right)
- Enter a clear, descriptive Title
- Write a detailed Description explaining:
- What the feature should do
- Why it would be useful
- How you envision it working
- Click Submit
Tips for Good Feature Requests
- Be specific - "Add dark mode for guides" is better than "Make it look better"
- Explain the benefit - Why would this help you or other users?
- One feature per request - Keep requests focused
- Search first - Check if someone already requested it
Voting on Features
Your votes help prioritize which features get built first.
How to Vote
- Find a feature you support
- Click the Upvote button (arrow icon)
- The button changes to show you have voted
Changing Your Vote
Click the vote button again to remove your vote. You can vote and unvote freely.
Vote Limits
You can vote on as many features as you like, but only once per feature.

Click any feature card to open the detail view showing:
Progress Tracker
A visual pipeline showing the feature journey:
- Pending - Submitted, awaiting review
- Voting - Open for community votes
- In Progress - Development started
- In Testing - Being tested
- Completed - Released!
The current stage is highlighted in blue, completed stages in green.
Comments
View and add comments to discuss the feature with the community and team.
Share
Click Share to copy a direct link to the feature request.
Adding Comments
- Open the feature detail view
- Scroll to the comment section
- Type your comment in the text area
- Click Add Comment
Use comments to:
- Provide additional context or use cases
- Ask clarifying questions
- Suggest implementation details
- Share related ideas
Status Meanings

Email Notifications
You may receive email notifications when:
- A feature you voted on changes status
- A feature you commented on has updates
- A feature you requested is completed

Be Constructive
Focus on what would help you accomplish your goals rather than criticizing existing features.
Vote Thoughtfully
Upvote features that would genuinely improve your workflow.
Check Back
Visit the feature requests page periodically to see progress and new submissions.
Provide Feedback
When features are released, let us know if they work as expected.
