BetterSTR connects directly to Resly — Australia’s PMS and trust accounting platform for resorts and holiday homes — so your rooms and reservations sync automatically and every guest gets their own digital guidebook link. This guide walks you through finding your Resly credentials, connecting them to BetterSTR, what syncs across, and what to check if something doesn’t look right.
Before you start
You need two things: an API Key and your Account ID
Your Account ID is your Resly property identifier — the short name you’ll recognise from your Resly URLs and direct booking link (for example resly-resort). The API Key is issued by Resly for Open API access. If you don’t have one yet, email Resly at integrations@resly.com.au and ask for Open API access for your account. The BetterSTR side is free on every plan.
Step 1 — Find your Resly credentials
- Note your Account ID — your Resly property identifier (e.g.
resly-resort). It appears in your Resly direct booking URL, or Resly support can confirm it. - Copy your API Key. If you can’t find it, request Open API access from integrations@resly.com.au.
Step 2 — Connect them to BetterSTR
- In BetterSTR, go to Integrations and choose Resly, or head straight to the Resly connection page.
- Enter your Resly Account ID and paste your API Key, then click Connect Resly.
- BetterSTR validates the credentials with Resly before saving them. If they’re accepted, your rooms begin syncing automatically straight away.
Step 3 — That’s it (webhooks are automatic)
Unlike some platforms, there’s nothing to copy back into Resly. When you connect, BetterSTR automatically registers secure Resly webhooks for reservations, rooms and room types — so new bookings, changes and cancellations arrive within moments. An hourly sync runs as a backstop, so nothing slips through even if a notification is missed.
What syncs from Resly
- Rooms & holiday homes — every unit with its room type, bedrooms, bathrooms, occupancy, photos and amenities. Each room becomes its own guidebook.
- Unit-level details — the WiFi network and password, check-in and check-out instructions, key number and carpark you keep against each room in Resly. Each unit’s guide (and WiFi QR code) is automatically correct for that unit.
- Reservations — guest name, email and phone, stay dates, arrival/departure time windows, party size, booking channel, balances and door PINs where used.
- Resort details — your complex’s address, contact phone and email, and direct booking link.
Long-term tenancy units are left out automatically
If your complex has a mix of holiday and permanent units, BetterSTR automatically excludes rooms marked as tenancy (or with holiday letting turned off) in Resly, so guests never see a guidebook for a permanent resident’s unit. You can also toggle any individual room’s guidebook on or off from the Resly integration page.
Resly shortcodes in your guides
Once connected, the guide builder’s shortcode menu gains two Resly categories. Property shortcodes include resly_wifi_network, resly_wifi_password, resly_checkin_instructions, resly_checkout_instructions, resly_key_number and resly_carpark; reservation shortcodes include resly_reservation_ref, resly_arrival_window, resly_departure_window and resly_pin_number. Drop them into your guide once and every guest sees their own values.
Troubleshooting
- “Resly rejected the credentials” — double-check both the API Key and the Account ID (the Account ID must match your Resly property identifier exactly). If they look right, confirm with Resly that Open API access is enabled for your account.
- No rooms appeared — click Sync Properties on the Resly integration page. If the list is still empty, check the rooms are active in Resly and not all marked as tenancy units.
- A booking change hasn’t come through — changes normally arrive within moments; the hourly backstop sync will catch anything missed. If something still looks wrong after an hour, use Sync Reservations on the integration page or contact BetterSTR support.
