How to Connect Hostaway

July 8, 2026 38 views Barry Murphy
Connect BetterSTR with Hostaway in a few clicks using your Account ID and API Secret Key. Sync your properties and reservations and deliver a personalised digital guidebook to every guest.

If you manage your properties with Hostaway, you can connect it to BetterSTR to automatically sync your properties and reservations. Every booking then gets its own personalised digital guidebook — with no manual data entry.

What you’ll need

  • A BetterSTR account
  • Your Hostaway Account ID (a numeric ID) and API Secret Key

Steps to Connect Hostaway with BetterSTR

  1. Log in to BetterSTR
Go to your BetterSTR account and open the Integrations page.

  2. Open the Hostaway integration
Find Hostaway in the list of integrations and click Connect.

  3. Enter your Hostaway credentials
Enter your numeric Account ID and your API Secret Key into the two fields. Click Connect — BetterSTR validates your credentials against Hostaway straight away and lets you know if anything is missing.

  4. Sync your properties and reservations

    • Your properties and upcoming reservations sync automatically within a minute or two.
    • You can optionally sync historical reservations to use BetterSTR’s Mobile TXT / SMS marketing features.

Where to find your Hostaway credentials

In Hostaway, open Settings → Hostaway API and create an API key. Hostaway then displays your Account ID (a number such as 160273) and a Secret Key — copy both. Keep the secret key somewhere safe, as Hostaway only shows it once.

What happens after you connect

  • Each reservation gets its own guidebook with the guest’s name and actual check-in / check-out times.
  • Add a new property in Hostaway and it appears in BetterSTR automatically on the next sync.
  • Create reusable guide templates and apply them across your portfolio to keep every property consistent.
  • Generate shareable links and QR codes for specific guidebook content (e.g. appliance instructions) to place on fridges, remotes or welcome cards.
