When integrated with Hospitable, the guestbook can be further customized with personal details, such as the guest’s name, check-in and check-out dates, and the number of guests in their reservation. This enhances communication and provides a seamless guest experience by offering all necessary details in one convenient location.
To incorporate the guestbook into your Hospitable messaging, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Guest Experience → Messaging Rules in Hospitable.
- Select the message where you’d like to include the guestbook link.
- Click on the message and add text such as:
“View your personalized digital Guestbook at %guidebook%.” - Save the message, and Hospitable will dynamically insert the guestbook link for each reservation.

Additionally, Hospitable provides the %guestbook% shortcode, allowing further customization. This ensures that guests always have access to up-to-date information about their stay, reducing the need for manual communication while enhancing their overall experience.
Booking confirmation timing
If you want the guidebook link to appear in the very first email (the booking confirmation), delay sending that message by at least 5 minutes. It takes 1–2 minutes for us to receive the new booking from Hospitable and to return the %guidebook% shortcode value back to Hospitable.
Any follow-up communications — for example, the 10-days-before-reservation message or check-in instructions — will already have the link populated, so no delay is required.
