BetterSTR TV runs as the TV’s home screen (a “kiosk” mode), so guests always land on your branded welcome screen. Sometimes you need to step out of it — to change a TV setting, sign in to an app, or do maintenance. You can leave the launcher temporarily without un-installing anything.
Leave the launcher for 10 minutes
- On the TV, open Settings (the gear on the BetterSTR home screen).
- Scroll all the way to the bottom and open Advanced Settings.
- Expand the accordion there and press “Leave launcher for 10 minutes”.
- Press the Home button on your remote — press it a second time if needed. You’ll drop out of the BetterSTR app to the TV’s own home screen.
For the next 10 minutes the kiosk mode stands aside, so you can reach the TV’s settings, the app store, or any other app. After the window ends (or on the next check-in) BetterSTR takes the home screen back automatically.
Nothing is uninstalled
This only pauses the home-screen takeover — your configuration, pairing and apps are untouched. BetterSTR simply resumes as the home screen when the window ends.
Get back to BetterSTR sooner
Don’t want to wait out the 10 minutes? While the window is still open, re-open the BetterSTR TV app, scroll to About at the bottom of the BetterSTR home screen, and press Resume — that ends the window and takes the home screen back straight away. (Rebooting the TV also brings it straight back to your welcome screen.)
