Want to remove BetterSTR TV from a TV box, for example a test install on your own Google TV Streamer at home? Because BetterSTR runs as the TV’s home screen, you first step out of the launcher from your dashboard, then uninstall it from the TV’s own Android settings.
Step 1: Leave the launcher from your dashboard
- Go to gb.betterstr.com/members/android-tv/ and click the device you want to remove.
- In the device status panel (the third column, bottom right), press Leave launcher for 10 min.
You’ll also find the same button if you edit the device, scroll all the way to the bottom and open Advanced Settings → Maintenance.
Step 2: Uninstall the app on the TV
- Press the Home button on your remote (press it a second time if needed). This takes you out of the BetterSTR launcher to the TV’s standard home screen.
- Open the TV’s Settings → Apps.
- Select BetterSTR TV and choose Uninstall, then confirm.
Once it’s uninstalled, the TV goes back to its normal home screen for good.
You have 10 minutes
The launcher only stands aside for 10 minutes. If BetterSTR takes the home screen back before you’ve finished uninstalling, just press Leave launcher for 10 min on the dashboard again.
