Apaleo is an open hotel property management system. It now connects to BetterSTR with Connect with Apaleo: no app to create, no secret to copy and nothing to install in Apaleo. The connection is new, so it's marked Beta while the first hotels use it, and BetterSTR is coming to the Apaleo Store.
Connect in one click
- In BetterSTR, go to Integrations → Apaleo and click Connect with Apaleo.
- Sign in with your Apaleo login.
- On Apaleo's consent screen, choose which properties BetterSTR may see, and click Agree.
- You're back in BetterSTR, connected. Your hotels, rooms and reservations come across, and instant updates are set up for you.
Every room is its own property
A TV in room 214 should welcome room 214's guest. So BetterSTR makes each hotel and each unit in Apaleo its own property.
- The guest's name on their room TV. Each stay sits on the room Apaleo assigned it to, so that room's TV shows the guest.
- Reservations follow the room. Until Apaleo assigns a room, the stay waits on the hotel's own property. When Apaleo assigns one, it moves across.
- You choose which rooms are on. Rooms arrive switched off. Switch on the rooms that have a TV or need guides, so a pilot with a few rooms is easy.
- A digital guidebook per reservation, personalised to that guest, that room and those dates, and sent by your BetterSTR email and SMS rules.
What syncs
- Reservations: dates and times, status, booking channel, adults and children, and the room.
- Guest: name, email and phone.
- Hotels and rooms: one property per hotel and per unit.
Photos, WiFi details and check-in times aren't in Apaleo's API, so add them in BetterSTR. Property Defaults applies them to every room at once. BetterSTR never creates, changes or cancels reservations, and never posts charges. The Apaleo integration page has the full details.
Changes arrive within a minute
Apaleo tells BetterSTR about new, changed, cancelled and room-assigned reservations by webhook, usually within a minute. A safety check runs every 6 hours to catch anything a webhook missed, and your hotels and rooms are re-read daily.
Two optional settings
- A guide link for the front desk. BetterSTR can add a BetterSTR guest guide line with a short link to each reservation's comment, which is for your staff. Guests get their guide by BetterSTR email or SMS. Off by default.
- Switch rooms on as they're assigned. If a booking from your switched-on hotel is assigned a room that's switched off, BetterSTR can switch that room on, so the guest keeps their guide and TV welcome. Off by default, so a pilot stays a pilot.
BetterSTR TV: the screen in the room
Apaleo runs your reservations, and BetterSTR TV puts them on the screen in the room. It's a hotel launcher for Android TV and Google TV, and with Apaleo connected, the TV in every room knows who's staying and when:
- Welcome by name: greets each guest by name, keyed to their Apaleo reservation and room, and shows their stay dates.
- Guidebook on the big screen: your hotel information and local recommendations, browsable with the TV remote.
- WiFi QR on screen: guests point their phone at the TV and they're connected.
- Local activities and weather: things to do nearby and the forecast for their stay.
- Casting and streaming apps: guests watch their own content on the room TV.
- Upsells: your extras, shown where guests are already looking.
- Clears between stays: the next guest starts fresh.
