MyTourist now connects to BetterSTR, and like every BetterSTR integration it is included in the free plan.
MyTourist is a Dutch property management system and channel manager for B&Bs, small hotels, holiday parks and campsites: calendar, booking engine, invoices and connections to Booking.com, Airbnb and other channels in one place. We built the integration because a host asked for it, and it is marked beta while the first MyTourist hosts use it.
One API token, nothing to install
MyTourist prints an API token for each company profile on the API page under Preferences. You copy it, paste it into BetterSTR, and we check it with MyTourist before saving anything. There is no app to install in MyTourist and no approval to wait for.
Every room gets its own guide and its own TV
A B&B with four rooms needs four welcomes, not one. BetterSTR turns every room in MyTourist into its own property, so the TV in Room 4 greets the guest staying in Room 4. Rooms arrive switched off, which matters for a holiday park with fifty pitches: you turn on the rooms that have a TV or need a guide.
- Rooms come with their content: the room type's photos, guest-facing name and description, size and amenities, plus your location's address and contact details.
- Every booking comes through with the guest's name, email and phone, dates, adults and children, the channel it came from and that channel's reference. Cancellations stop the guest's scheduled messages.
- Door codes too: the access code on the MyTourist booking becomes the guest's door code in the guide and on the TV.
- Not yet in a room? A booking MyTourist hasn't placed waits on your location and moves to its room the moment MyTourist assigns one.
Changes arrive within 10 minutes, or faster
BetterSTR checks MyTourist for new, changed and cancelled bookings every 10 minutes for the next two months, and once an hour for the rest of the year. If you want changes in a minute or two, the MyTourist page in BetterSTR shows your own webhook address: add it in MyTourist under Settings > Webhooks and every new, edited, cancelled, checked-in or checked-out booking is picked up straight away.
The guide link can go on the booking
Each booking gets a unique guidebook link, personalised to that guest, that room and those dates. BetterSTR sends it with your email and SMS rules. Switch on one option and the link is also added to the note on the MyTourist booking, on its own line, so your team sees it in MyTourist. The rest of your note stays as you wrote it.
It's not just guidebooks
Once connected, the whole BetterSTR stack works off the same booking data:
- Digital guidebooks: branded, multi-language, no app download for guests.
- BetterSTR TV welcome screens: greet guests by name on the TV in their room (more below).
- WiFi QR codes: guests scan and they're online, no password hunting.
- Guest verification: confirm who's actually staying before check-in.
- SMS and email automation: timed messages keyed off each booking's dates.
- Upsells: early check-in, late check-out, breakfast and local extras, offered inside the guide.
The highlight: your TVs become the guest experience
MyTourist doesn't put anything on the TV in your rooms, and it has no guest tablet either. With BetterSTR connected, the TV in every room knows exactly who's staying and when, and turns itself into a five-star welcome:
- Personal welcome screen: greets each guest by name for the exact dates of their booking, switching over automatically between stays.
- Guidebook on the big screen: house info, breakfast times, check-out instructions and local recommendations, browsable with the normal TV remote.
- WiFi QR on screen: guests point their phone at the TV and they're connected.
- Local activities, weather and upsells: things to do nearby, the forecast for their stay, and your extras right where guests are already looking.

How to connect (about two minutes)
- In MyTourist, open Preferences, go to the API page and copy the API token.
- In BetterSTR, go to Integrations → MyTourist and paste it.
- Click Sync Properties, then switch on the rooms that have a TV or need a guide. Their bookings follow.
- Pop your WiFi details into BetterSTR, and add the webhook in MyTourist if you'd like changes in a minute or two.

Common questions
Does this cost anything on the BetterSTR side?
No. All BetterSTR integrations, MyTourist included, are part of the free plan with unlimited properties.
I have several locations in MyTourist. Can I connect them all?
Each MyTourist company profile has its own token, and a BetterSTR account connects one of them. Connect the location with your TVs or guides, or email us and we'll help you set up the others.
Why doesn't my WiFi password come across?
MyTourist has no WiFi fields. Add them once on the property in BetterSTR and no sync will overwrite them.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guidebook links open in any browser, and the unique per-booking link is generated automatically for every booking that syncs.
