If you run your properties on Hostfully's Property Management Platform, this one's for you. As of today, BetterSTR connects directly to Hostfully PMP — and like every BetterSTR integration, it's included in the free plan.
Paste in one API key and BetterSTR pulls in your whole portfolio: every property with its photos, amenities, check-in and check-out times, address, bedrooms and bathrooms — plus every reservation, with guest details and the booking channel (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com or direct). No spreadsheets, no re-typing your listings into yet another tool.
What actually syncs
- Properties: photos, amenities, check-in/out times, address, bedrooms and bathrooms — everything BetterSTR needs to build a guidebook that already knows your place.
- Reservations: guest names and contact details, stay dates, party size and which channel the booking came from.
- Changes, as they happen: when a booking is created, modified or cancelled in Hostfully, it lands in BetterSTR in near real-time via Hostfully's webhooks. An hourly sync runs as a backstop, so nothing slips through even if a webhook goes missing.
Every reservation gets its own guidebook link
This is the part that saves you the most time. The moment a reservation syncs, BetterSTR generates a unique guest guidebook link for that stay — personalised to that guest, that property and those dates. Drop the link into your Hostfully message templates once, and every future guest gets their own guide without you lifting a finger.
Your guides can also use Hostfully-specific shortcodes: confirmation ID, party size, booking channel, even the guest's flight number if it's on the reservation. So a guide can open with “Welcome, party of 4 — here's what to do when your flight lands” rather than a generic hello.
It's not just guidebooks
Once Hostfully is connected, the whole BetterSTR stack works off the same reservation data:
- Digital guidebooks — branded, multi-language, no app download for guests.
- BetterSTR TV welcome screens — greet guests by name on the in-property TV (more on this below).
- WiFi QR codes — guests scan and they're online, no password hunting.
- Guest verification — confirm who's actually staying before check-in.

Wait — doesn't Hostfully have guidebooks?
It does, and plenty of hosts are happy with them. Hostfully's core strength is the PMS: calendars, channel management, pricing, owner statements. What it doesn't have is the in-property layer — the reservation-aware TV service above, the tablet companion, the WiFi QR on the fridge, ID verification, and upsells that run themselves. BetterSTR sits alongside Hostfully as exactly that layer. Keep running your business in Hostfully; let BetterSTR handle what guests see and touch during the stay.
How to connect (about two minutes)
- Log in to platform.hostfully.com and open your Agency Settings page to find your agency API key.
- In BetterSTR, go to Integrations → Hostfully and paste the key in.
- That's it. Your properties and reservations sync straight away, and stay in sync from then on.
One requirement on the Hostfully side: API access needs either Hostfully's Premium plan or their “Open API” add-on. If you don't see an API key in Agency Settings, that's the reason.
Common questions
Does this cost anything on the BetterSTR side?
No. All BetterSTR integrations — Hostfully included — are part of the free plan.
What do I need from Hostfully?
Your agency API key, from the Agency Settings page on platform.hostfully.com. Your Hostfully account needs the Premium plan or the Open API add-on for the key to be available.
How fast do booking changes come through?
Near real-time. Hostfully fires a webhook when a booking is created, changed or cancelled, and BetterSTR picks it up within moments. An hourly full sync catches anything a webhook might miss.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guidebook links open in any browser, and the unique per-reservation link is generated automatically for every booking that syncs from Hostfully.
Can I choose which properties sync?
All properties on your Hostfully account sync across, and you control which ones have active guidebooks, TV displays and messaging inside BetterSTR.
