Your BetterSTR account uses a prepaid balance system for SMS messaging and other services. This guide explains how to manage your balance and view transactions.
Accessing Billing
Click on your profile icon and select Billing & Credits, or navigate directly to Transaction History.
Your Account Balance
The balance card at the top shows your current available funds in USD. This balance is used for:
- Sending SMS messages to guests
- Sending SMS notifications to cleaners
- Other pay-per-use services
Adding Funds
- Click Add Funds in the billing menu
- Enter the amount you want to add
- Select a saved payment method or add a new card
- Confirm the payment
Funds are added to your balance immediately after successful payment.
Transaction History
View all your account activity in the Transaction History page:
Transaction Types
- Credit - Funds added to your account
- SMS - SMS message charges
- Refund - Credits returned to your account
Transaction Details
Each transaction shows:
- Date and time
- Transaction type
- Amount (positive for credits, negative for charges)
- Description or reference
Filtering Transactions
Filter your history by:
- Transaction type
- Date range
Payment Methods
Manage your saved credit cards in Payment Methods:
Adding a Card
- Go to Payment Methods
- Click Add Payment Method
- Enter your card details securely via Stripe
- Save the card
Card Information Displayed
- Card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
- Last 4 digits
- Expiration date
- Default status
Setting a Default Card
Click Set as Default on any saved card. The default card is used for:
- Quick payments
- Auto top-up (if enabled)
Removing a Card
- Click Delete next to the card
- Confirm the deletion
Understanding SMS Costs
SMS pricing varies by country. Before sending messages, the system shows:
- Cost per message by destination country
- Total cost for all recipients
- Your available balance
If you have insufficient balance, you will be prompted to add funds before sending.
Printing Invoices
For accounting purposes:
- Click on a transaction to view details
- Click Print Invoice
- A formatted invoice opens for printing or saving as PDF
Billing Information
To add billing details for invoices:
- Open a transaction detail
- Click Edit Billing Info
- Enter your company name and address
- Save for future invoices
Low Balance Warning
When your balance runs low, you will see a warning before attempting to send SMS. Consider setting up Auto Top-Up to avoid interruptions.
