Properties are the foundation of your BetterSTR account. This guide covers how properties are added, how to manage them, and the key actions available for each property.
How Properties Are Added
Properties are automatically synced from your connected Property Management System (PMS) or vacation rental platform. BetterSTR integrates with:
- Hospitable - Full reservation and property sync
- OwnerRez - Complete property management integration
- Guesty - Enterprise property sync
- Lodgify - Property and booking integration
- Tokeet / AdvanceCM / Sympl - Channel manager integrations
- Hostex.io - Property management sync
- Hosttools - Multi-platform integration
When you connect your PMS, the sync process automatically:
- Fetches your properties from the connected platform
- Adds new properties to your BetterSTR account
- Updates existing properties with any changes
- Disables properties that are no longer in your PMS
- Syncs reservations for newly enabled properties
The Properties Dashboard
Your properties are displayed in a table view showing:
- Property Image - Thumbnail of your property photo
- Property Name - The name from your PMS (or custom name)
- Domain - Custom domain status if configured
- Tags - Color-coded tags for organization
- Guide Status - Shows "Has Guide" or "No Guide"
- Actions - Quick action buttons
Property Actions Menu
Click the action menu (three dots) on any property to access:
Guide Management
- Edit Guide / Create Guide - Open the Guide Builder
- Live Editor - Make real-time changes while viewing
- View Guidebook - See your guide as guests see it
- Delete Guide - Remove the guide (keeps property)
Guest Communication
- Send Guide - Send via SMS or email
- Send Payment Request - Request payment from guests
Property Settings
- Property Settings - Edit individual property options
- Custom Domain - Set up a branded URL
- Add Location - Add map markers
- Property Shortcodes - View available shortcodes
- Language Translation - Translate your guide
Analytics and Tools
- Guide Analytics - View visitor statistics
- Reservations - See bookings for this property
- AI Queries - View AI chatbot conversations
- Create Widget - Generate embeddable widgets
Editing Property Settings
Access Property Settings to customize each property individually:
Display Settings
- Custom Name - Override the PMS property name
- Theme Colors - Primary color and footer color
- Icon Style - Regular, solid, or duotone icons
- Icon Color - Custom icon color
- Product Style - Grid or stack layout
Booking Links
- Airbnb - Your Airbnb listing URL
- Booking.com - Your BDC listing URL
- VRBO - Your VRBO listing URL
- Direct Booking - Your website booking link
Map Settings
- Map Zoom Level - Default zoom (1-20)
- Show Map Legend - Toggle legend visibility
- Tag Filters - Enable location filtering
Other Options
- Weather Units - Metric or Imperial
- Google Indexing - Allow search engine visibility
- SMS Settings - Auto-send guide timing
- Shortcodes - Enable/disable shortcode parsing
Syncing Properties
To manually sync your properties:
- Go to Integrations in the main menu
- Find your connected PMS
- Click Sync Properties
The sync will show you how many properties were added, updated, unchanged, or disabled.
