Cloudbeds runs the front desk, channels, rates and payments for independent hotels, hostels, B&Bs and inns, as well as some holiday rentals. That shapes how BetterSTR fits in: each Cloudbeds property becomes one BetterSTR property with one house guide, and every reservation gets its own link to it, with the guest's room name, arrival time and party filled in. It suits places where a printed compendium sits in every room today, and where the desk would rather not answer the same WiFi question all day.

The full property profile is fetched in the background shortly after the first sync, then refreshed daily. Reservations follow Cloudbeds webhooks.

In Cloudbeds open Account, then Apps & Marketplace, and click New Credentials. Name it BetterSTR, pick any category and use https://localhost as the redirect URI.
In the API Key column click Create and tick read:hotel, read:guest, read:reservation, read:webhook and write:webhook. Copy the key starting cbat_, as it's shown once.
Choose Cloudbeds under Integrations and paste the key. BetterSTR checks it, loads your properties and registers webhooks for each one.
Cloudbeds notifies BetterSTR when a reservation is created, changes status, changes dates or moves room, and when a guest's details are edited. BetterSTR then fetches the full reservation, so a new booking normally has its guide within a couple of minutes. An hourly sync collects anything Cloudbeds failed to deliver; Cloudbeds retries a webhook only a few times before giving up. The first import covers reservations checking in from two days ago onwards, so past stays don't clutter your list.
Cloudbeds Fields and Cloudbeds Res are added to the guide builder when you connect:

Usually a missing permission scope. Cloudbeds doesn't let you add scopes to an existing key, so delete it, create a new key with read:hotel, read:guest, read:reservation, read:webhook and write:webhook ticked, then use Update API Key in BetterSTR. Also check you copied the API Key starting cbat_, not the Client ID or Client Secret.
Cloudbeds expires keys that go unused for 30 days. While connected, BetterSTR's hourly sync uses the key, which keeps it active. If the integration was off for a month or more, create a fresh key and reconnect.
Each Cloudbeds property has one guide, and every reservation gets its own link to it. The guest's assigned room can be shown with the {{cloudbeds_room_name}} shortcode, so instructions can still be room-specific.
No. Cloudbeds keeps lock codes in its separate door-lock integrations, which BetterSTR doesn't connect to. Give guests their access details through your usual check-in process.
No. You create the API key yourself in Apps & Marketplace, and the BetterSTR side is free.
