To connect, open the Integrations page in the BetterSTR members area, choose Channex and paste your API key. You create the key yourself in Channex from the API Keys section of your user profile, and you can scope it to all properties or just the ones you want in BetterSTR. BetterSTR validates the key, then syncs your property details (name, address, photos, description, check-in and check-out times) along with your bookings from every connected channel, including guest name, email, phone, party size, expected arrival time and the booking source such as Airbnb, Booking.com or Expedia.
From then on, Channex webhooks deliver new bookings, changes and cancellations in near real-time, with an hourly sync as backstop. BetterSTR is strictly read-only on the distribution side: it never writes rates, availability or channel settings. One thing to know: in Channex, API keys can only be created by the billing account owner, and if your property management system includes Channex under its own brand, connect that system to BetterSTR directly instead.

No, connect your PMS to BetterSTR directly instead. The Channex integration is for hosts who use Channex themselves with their own Channex login. If Channex is bundled inside your PMS you usually cannot create a Channex API key, and your PMS connection gives BetterSTR the same data.
