Yes! Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) option allows you to install BetterSTR Companion on your existing Android tablet. However, please note that some devices may have manufacturer or carrier restrictions that prevent full kiosk mode functionality. We recommend testing compatibility first or purchasing a pre-configured tablet from us.

The tablet uses its built-in microphone to monitor ambient noise levels in decibels (dB). You can set custom thresholds (default is 70 dB) and quiet hours. When noise exceeds your threshold during monitoring periods, you'll receive instant notifications. The system only measures volume levels, not actual conversations, ensuring guest privacy.

No. The tablet boots directly into kiosk mode, displaying only your BetterSTR Guidebook. Guests cannot access device settings, other apps, or browse the internet. You can optionally allow access to specific links from your guidebook (like restaurant reservations or local attractions), but the device remains locked to your approved content only.

Through our web portal, you can monitor device status, adjust brightness, update content, view location, restart the device, and configure all settings remotely. You'll see real-time device health, battery status, and connection information. The device automatically dims when no guests are present and brightens when they check in.
